It’s almost here! The "No Dictators" Protest on Saturday will be our biggest and most joyful protest yet. We look forward to seeing you and your friends there! TAKE ACTION: We gather on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 4-5 pm on Queen Kaʻahumanu south of Henry Street, mauka of the Mormon Temple. If you haven’t yet, register here. Here are a few things to know before you go. Lead with AlohaWe are not expecting any counter protesters, but please be on the lookout. Across the US, including Hawai'i, MAGA diehards have become more aggressive. It's not surprising that they feel cornered. If you encounter anyone trying to start a confrontation, whether on the ground or from a passing vehicle, respond with a smile and a welcome. Defuse any attempt to provoke you. If you see someone being confrontational, pull out your phone and video the behavior. If you are uncomfortable, flag our nearest team members, who will be wearing a yellow or orange safety vest. If you have a whistle, use that, too. For more information, check out the Peaceful Protest Protocol. As we always do, we have notified the Hawai'i Police Department that we will be gathering. We will contact them in an emergency. Meet Our State Representative Kirstin KahaloaWe are thrilled for Kristin Kahaloa, who represents Kona District 6 in the State House of Representatives, to join us. Look for her at the KIND information table. We'll be happy to discuss the bills we are supporting and provide updates on the current legislative session. Food DriveIf you’re bringing food for Aloha Latinos, please drop it off at the KIND information table. Pedestrian and Traffic RulesThe police have reminded us of a few simple DO's:
And DON'T:
ParkingPlease park in the large parking lots nearby and walk to the protest site. Due to both storm damage and construction, there is much less parking off the highway than previously. Help us save the remaining spots for handicapped parking. We want to minimize safety hazards and the impact on through traffic as much as possible, so please help us by following these suggestions:
Call for VolunteersIf you'd like to help with parking or support our team, please reply to this email with the subject line "I'm volunteering." Plan on being at the site by 3:00 PM. If you have a yellow or orange vest and/or whistle, please bring them. (If not, we have a few extras.) It's Going to Be Fun!We always go home energized after every protest. Being surrounded by like-minded neighbors and friends creates a wonderful sense of community. You will feel pumped, too! In the spirit of the great Bette Midler, who just released a remake of Woody Guthrie’s classic protest song “All You Fascists Bound to Lose” 🎶🎵🎶 See you Saturday! Sam & the Leadership Team |

Aloha Reader, It was a good week for the State of Hawai'i. We had record success in advancing bills through the state legislature on a long list of priorities related to Migrant Rights, Affordability for Working Families, Good Government/Fair Elections, Healthcare Access, LGBTQ+ Rights, and Gun Safety. We covered the details in a webinar on Friday, available now on our YouTube channel. Today, I want to focus on the most historic bill of all, and it happened only because of you. Don't believe?...
