Friday night, Trump and Netanyahu launched a war against Iran with no obvious provocation. In his SOTU speech, TACO accused Iran of having hitherto-unknown missiles threatening the US. (Remember the 2003 claims of the hitherto-unknown Iraqi nuclear program? Been there, done that.) On Thursday, Trump sent his unappointed negotiators, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, to meet with Iran in Geneva, ostensibly seeking a nuclear deal like the JCPOA, the very agreement Trump unilaterally canceled in 2018. On Friday, Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered US officials to stop commentary that could strain Iran talks.” Friday night, the US and Israel started massive bombing. Why? Gratuitous show of force abroad (just like at home) seems to be the point. Trump is using another Iran war as a dopamine hit to recover from the hangover/narcissistic injuries of his many serial failures. After all, it was a bad week for TACO. On Tuesday, Trump delivered the longest, most vacuous, and most boycotted State of the Union address in history. No one bought what he was selling. “After SOTU, voters see Trump as focused on the wrong issues.” Trump’s ignoring the Epstein survivors in the chamber failed to push the Trump-Epstein cover-up out of the news. The Guardian reported reported new revelations that FBI interviews with a potential victim were removed from the last files release because they “contain explicit but unsubstantiated claims that Donald Trump sexually abused a woman when she was a minor in the early 1980s.” And DOJ still illegally withholds 3 million documents. We are watching a wannabe dictator flail. That’s when he is most dangerous. Demand a War Powers VoteOnly Congress has the power to declare war. Trump had no respect for Congressional authority, and the Republican leadership seems to be fine with that. Congress must act to stop this unconstitutional war, or we might as well not have a Congress. Demand that Congress act, and ask all your friends & relatives outside Hawai'i to demand it as well. TAKE ACTION: Indivisible made it easy to demand a War Powers vote from our Representatives, so click the links below

Aloha Reader, What a storm! Its unusual size and intensity have affected all the Hawaiian Islands. We hope you and your loved ones are safe as we weather this together. #ClimateChangeIsReal On the surface, this week’s news looks weird. The massive, chaotic, illegal, unpopular, unsuccessful, inflationary, lethal war on Iran continues with no objective, strategy, or rationale. What does Iran do in response? Close the Strait of Hormuz to strangle the world oil market. What does the...
Aloha Reader, Thanks to all who showed up for the Biennial Democratic Party Elections on Wednesday. It was great to see that Indivisibles made up a third of the room. And thank you, Tina Marie, for leading the quest to make the Party, at least in Hawai'i County, worth joining. “No More Forever Wars?” Really? This week, Trump, Hegseth, and Rubio more or less proved that Netanyahu suckered them into attacking Iran with absolutely no plan. No plan for personnel evacuations, no plan for Iran's...
Aloha Reader, Imagine an enormous stone, rigid and unmoving, yet packed deep inside with the untapped force of real Democracy. Now picture someone standing before it with a hammer, chipping away, bit by bit, trying to break it open and unleash the change sealed within. Hi! I’m Tina Marie, one of the leaders at KIND. I’m also one of the few people standing at the stone of Democracy, hammer in hand, chipping away to crack it open and bring forward stronger, more progressive leadership. I’d like...
