Sam and MET here. We have two upcoming events, and we hope you can join us in person and/or virtual 🤩. In-Person: October Beach PotluckOn Sunday, October 5, 2025, we'll gather for our next potluck at Kahalu'u Beach Park from 4:00 to 6:30 PM. We had a great time in September, and while eating, talking, and enjoying each other's company, we also completed 600 postcards for the Prop 50 Redistricting initiative in CA. We will have more postcards available for you to write or take home! Please register for the October potluck event here, and remember the food drive for Aloha Latinos. Details are on the registration page. If you cannot make it on Sunday, then the next event is the very best thing for you 😊 Virtual: Inaugural Membership MeetingWe are excited to hold our first virtual membership meeting on Zoom on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. It is our initial all-member meeting, and we look forward to seeing you and getting your feedback on several initiatives. We hope this will be a good forum for direct conversation between you and the leadership team. There is a lot to cover, but we'll try hard to keep it to 60 minutes. We’ll start by celebrating recent wins:
That will be a 15-minute update. Then we want to focus on October actions:
To counter the daily barrage of cruelty, mismanagement, and weak leadership, KIND has launched two initiatives:
The virtual meeting is the perfect opportunity to explain our approach and how you can participate. We’ll also want to hear your feedback regarding our website and events, and ask for your suggestions on actions we should take. We’ll make the online meeting as interactive and informal as possible, while still trying to manage the time to get through the agenda. Please register in advance for the Tuesday meeting. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing more information on how to join the meeting. We’re looking forward to seeing you in person and/or online! Thanks for all you do. You inspire us every day! Sam and Maryellen (MET) PS. Don't forget the next nationwide protest on Saturday, October 18, 2025. The 'We Say No Dictators' event will be held at our normal location from 4-5 pm. You can register for the event here. We'll send out more details leading up to it. |
